Video production for dealerships

A dealership's biggest edge on social is footage nobody else has — the actual cars, shot like they matter. Real production from real dealership shoots, cut for the feed and wired straight into the ad account.

What I audit in the first 30 days

Same order every time — each step depends on the one before it.

1

What's the video actually for?

Brand film, inventory walkaround, and sales-event promo are three different jobs with three different cuts. A pretty video with no role in the funnel is a cost, not an asset. I scope the job before the shoot.

2

Vertical-first, or an afterthought?

The feed and stories are vertical. Footage framed for a widescreen TV spot gets cropped into mush on a phone. Every shoot is planned for 9:16 first, landscape second.

3

Is there a distribution plan?

The best reel does nothing sitting on a channel. Before we roll, I know where each cut runs — paid social, pre-roll, GBP, the site — and how it feeds the campaigns.

The playbook

The levers that consistently move these accounts, roughly in order of impact.

01

A hero brand film

One cinematic anchor piece that says what the store stands for — the reel that runs on the homepage, the top of the funnel, and the first impression a buyer gets. See the auto reels in the portfolio.

02

Inventory walkarounds at volume

Fast, repeatable vehicle reels that make specific units scroll-stopping. The bridge between a catalog ad and a test drive — the car, moving, lit right.

03

Sales-event promos

Short, urgent, offer-forward cuts timed to the month's push. Built to be A/B tested in the ad account, not admired on a channel.

04

One shoot, every format

Feed, story, pre-roll, and a b-roll library — captured in a single production day so the cost amortizes across months of content instead of one post.

05

Footage that feeds the ads

The video isn't a separate deliverable — it's the raw material the Meta and inventory campaigns run on. Production and media are planned together, not handed off.

Run this in your shop

If bays are empty while the phone rings, the leak is measurable — and fixable.
